Canalh [kanaj], es “canalla” en la lejana Occitania, donde nació campesino. Allá los abuelos dicen así a los pelados hyperactivos. Pasó 5 años viajando pa’ camellar: China, Ecuador, Escocia, Alemania, Honduras y Colombia. Estas experiencias, relatadas en su blog, Radiocanalh, enriquecen sus raices arraigadas a la música tradicional (la tocaba en las calles).
Dj/productor, guitarrista, percusionista, es especializado en Tropical y electropical. Pasó 3 años en Medellin detras de las cumbias perdidas, produciendo mezclas originales y remixs novedosos. En el 2010, remezcla la banda de cumbia mexicana Afrodita con Gflux (remix sobre el sello 24hour sounds), lanza [buo] beats y empieza a escribir para el blog Generation Bass. En el 2011 de regreso en Francia, remezcla Solo Moderna, Che Sudaka y toca en el campo asi que en Toulouse, Montpellier, Lyon y Paris.

“Canalh” [kanaj]. Not a Dj ! Canalh is writing this blurb, and has a slight tendency towards contradiction… Occitan musician/blogger/producer, in my 20’s, when kids were throwing money in the disco, I was performing traditional music in the streets collecting the very first euros ! They didn’t last: in the XXI century, I had to travel for working reasons: Ecuador, China, Scotland, Germany, Honduras and Colombia, sharing experiences on my blog.
I discovered Cumbia in 98 in Toulouse and chasing her for 10 years, I finally emigrated to Colombia in 2008. Working hard and fullfilling my dream at the same time, I lived in Medellin during 3 years producing original mixs, sharp remixs/edits and collecting vinyles. 3 great mixtapes and a first official remix for Afrodita, mexican cumbia band got support from both colombian and international music lovers.
Back in Europe, with Barcelona based audiovisual Collective “Folcore”, I work on emerging fusioned styles of music marginalized by the industry mainstream, focusing on the dance side of the electronic & traditions. At 30, I enter the clubs and toured France a bit: Cahors, Gaillac - to spread red wine - and Toulouse, Montpellier, Paris, Lyon - to spread cumbia - I am now writing a weekly cumbia column for the UK blog Generation Bass and I do comissioned remix on demand.
I recently had a 3 days residency “Caravane cumbia” for the Festival “off” les Reflets du Cinéma ibérique et latino américain of Lyon. There, invited by charming mexicans, I was forced to represent Colombia. Contradictions…
